Globalisation

Messe Frankfurt has been bringing its industry expertise to the world’s growth markets for around the past 40 years. With 29 subsidiaries and over 50 sales partners in some 180 countries, the group operates successfully worldwide.

More than € 370 million (2024 around € 343 million) was generated outside Germany in 2025. Accounting for around 48 percent of group sales, this underscores Messe Frankfurt’s global development strategy.

“In close dialogue with our customers, we are investing systematically in creating even greater market proximity and global reach. In line with our long-term investment plan, we are expanding our global presence – through increased regional diversification and reduced dependence on individual markets.”

Expanding the international portfolio

Building on the success of its flagship trade fairs at its home venue, Messe Frankfurt has expanded its brands worldwide and is now represented at around 60 international locations. Examples include Automechanika in Buenos Aires, Light + Intelligent Building Middle East in Dubai and Techtextil North America.

“Our expertise is in demand worldwide. Thanks to bespoke concepts and customised solutions, the individual events are scheduled and located to meet the demands of the respective regions. This has proved a popular and successful business model for us,” Detlef Braun, Member of the Executive Board.

This international commitment has a direct positive impact on the events in Frankfurt, with over three-quarters of the exhibiting companies and more than half of all visitors at the group’s own trade fairs coming from outside Germany.

New subsidiary in Saudi Arabia

With the establishment of its Messe Frankfurt Saudi Arabia subsidiary, Messe Frankfurt has laid another foundation stone in its long-term investment strategy for the Kingdom’s dynamically growing trade fair industry. As part of Saudi Arabia’s “Vision 2030”, the company is strengthening its presence in the region and playing an active role in the ongoing development of the MICE sector in the Middle East.

“We are committed to supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 by creating targeted, locally relevant platforms, and by doing so strengthening industries and contributing to Saudi Arabia’s economic diversification,” said Ted Bloom, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt Saudi Arabia and Messe Frankfurt Middle East. “We are developing new sector-specific formats, fostering relationships with government institutions and ensuring that our corporate objectives are aligned with the interests of local stakeholders.”
