Trade fairs and congresses are key drivers of a sustainable future. By bringing people, companies and institutions together, they create spaces where dialogue, inspiration and collaboration can thrive. In this way, they make an important contribution to sustainable transformation.
Sustainability plays a key role in Messe Frankfurt’s business activities. It is a clearly defined and strategically anchored corporate objective. In the conduct of its business activities, Messe Frankfurt is mindful of its environmental, social and economic responsibility and pursues its sustainability targets systematically and consistently.
A number of important measures were implemented in 2025 and key advances made to drive the sustainability strategy forward.
Environmental responsibility
Messe Frankfurt is working continuously to reduce its resources consumption and make its workflows more sustainable. The main areas of focus are energy, water and waste management, mobility, logistics, stand construction and catering. Particular priority is given to reducing energy consumption, increasing the use of renewable energy and continuously improving material cycles.
Social Responsibility
Messe Frankfurt is committed to promoting a healthy and respectful work environment and is mindful of its social responsibility.
This mindset begins within our company and extends beyond our own corporate boundaries. It builds on the following four strategic fields of action: promoting diversity, equal opportunities and balancing of interests, securing job quality, job satisfaction and professional development, upskilling and training, and practising responsible entrepreneurship.
Economic responsibility
Our aim is to generate profits in a socially and environmentally sustainable manner in order to enable future generations to promote economic development responsibly. We make targeted investments in the future of the company, aiming for sustainable, stable growth and manageable risks – in line with our shareholder structure and our corporate mission.
