Key indicators stable at a high level
Messe Frankfurt continues its positive trajectory in 2025

Key performance indicators at a glance

Messe Frankfurt continued its profitable trajectory in 2025. The cycle-related business trend is also mirrored in the development of group sales. Due to the rotation of events with a multi-year rhythm, odd-numbered years are typically weaker financially.

  • global sales amounted to around € 766 million
  • of which around € 398 million was generated in Germany and around € 368 million was generated outside Germany
  • operating results of foreign subsidiaries came to € 71.4 million before consolidation
  • equity increased to € 649.3 million
  • gearing ratio reduced to 71 percent
  • equity ratio increased to 52 percent
  • 349 events worldwide with 4.8 million visitors
  • of which 151 own group events and guest events attracting around 4 million visitors

The key financial indicators sales and net income differed significantly from the previous year. These changes were primarily attributable to the cycle of events staged by the Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH subsidiary in odd-numbered years, which impacts the utilisation of the exhibition grounds at the Frankfurt venue.

The financial year principally saw the annual events Heimtextil, Ambiente, Christmasworld, Creativeworld and Prolight + Sound, alongside the two-yearly event ISH and IFFA, which has a 3-yearly rhythm. In line with the regular rotation of events, these shows replaced the two-yearly events Light + Building, Techtextil, Texprocess and Automechanika held in the previous year.

In addition to the annual Frankfurt Book Fair guest event, Messe Frankfurt again hosted IFFA and the three-yearly CPhi guest event in the 2025 financial year. In the previous year, guest events including ACHEMA and Optatec were held instead.
