In rhythm with the best – Festhalle welcomes top female athletes for the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships

16 Jul 2026

This August, things are set to get sporty at the Festhalle in Frankfurt: around 300 female athletes from across the globe will come to the Messe Frankfurt locations for the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships.

Here is the key information at a glance:

  • When? The Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships will take place from 12 to 16 August 2026
  • Where? The event will be held at Festhalle Frankfurt.
  • Who will take part? Around 300 athletes from all over the world are expected in Frankfurt.

Following the 2025 World Championships in Rio de Janeiro, Festhalle Frankfurt will host the world’s best rhythmic gymnasts this year. The spotlight will be on Darja Varfolomeev in particular – Germany’s Sportswoman of the Year 2024 and Olympic champion. Last year, she delivered impressive performances, winning five out of a possible six titles in Rio de Janeiro.

Margarita Kolosov, Anastasia Simakova and the German team – bronze medallists at the European Championships – are equally ambitious and have their eyes firmly set on the medals.

The World Championships will begin with two Qualification days. The Individual All-Around Final follows on 14 August. On the fourth day of the World Championships, the Qualification, including the Group All-Around Final, takes place. The day ends with the ‘Wonderful World of Gymnastics’ show. On the final day of the World Championships, the Individual and Group Apparatus Finals are held.

We’re looking forward to an exciting event in our historic Festhalle, and we wish all participants the best of luck!
