Frankfurt Congress Ambassador in Conversation

Prof. Dr. Frank Louwen on Frankfurt as a congress destination and the future of medical congresses

Back to newsroom

Frankfurt is among the leading congress destinations in Europe. With over 250 events each year, our venue offers a reliable platform for interdisciplinary exchange between science, business, and society.

A recent example is the EBCOG Congress (European Congress of Obstetrics and Gynaecology), which took place on our locations from June 5–7, 2025. The event brought together leading professionals from across Europe to discuss the latest developments, medical standards, and current challenges in gynecology and obstetrics.

Ahead of the congress, we spoke with Prof. Dr. Frank Louwen – board member of EBCOG, long-time professor and physician for gynecology and obstetrics in Frankfurt, and committed Frankfurt congress ambassador. In the video, he shares his perspective on Frankfurt as an international congress location, talks about developments in the medical congress sector, and provides personal insights into his role as an ambassador.

The Frankfurt Congress Ambassador Programme is an initiative of the Frankfurt Convention Bureau and is aimed at outstanding individuals from the fields of science, medicine, and business who actively advocate for Frankfurt as a congress destination. Through their expertise, international networks, and personal commitment, they help attract key events to Frankfurt and thereby strengthen the city’s visibility in international competition.
