Cancellation of Winter-Nordstil 2021

3 Dec 2020

As a reaction to the current corona decisions of the federal and state governments in Germany, it was decided to cancel Winter-Nordstil 2021.

Due to developments in the occurrence of infections and the resulting countermeasures, the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg has issued a decree prohibiting the holding of trade fairs for the time being until 20th December 2020. "In view of this decision and the ongoing local and global measures to curb the worldwide occurrence of infections, we feel obliged to our exhibitors and visitors to cancel Nordstil in mid-January," says Philipp Ferger, Group Show Director Nordstil and Tendence. The decision was taken in close cooperation with the Nordstil exhibitor committee and Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH on the basis of the current regulation issued by the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg to contain the spread of the corona virus SARS-CoV-2

Despite the fact that the green light was given for the summer event in September 2020 due to a low number of infections at this time, the current pandemic is unlikely to result in permission to hold major events in mid-January, despite a gratifyingly high number of exhibitors and a sophisticated safety concept. "Along the route of the official ban on events, the lockdown extended by the federal and state governments until 10th January 2021 and the close proximity to the date of the event, we do not see any possibility of staging the Nordstil that would do justice to our exhibitors and visitors," Ferger continues.

In view of the latest developments regarding the approval of vaccines, the possibility of postponing the date in the first quarter of 2021 will be examined in the course of January.

This will not affect the staging of the International Consumer Goods Show in Frankfurt am Main from 17th to 20th April 2021. As announced on Tuesday, over 2,000 exhibitors from 63 countries have already registered. As announced, the planning continues to progress.

The Summer-Nordstil 2021 will take place from 24th to 26th July 2021.
