Dr. Andreas Winckler has been confirmed as the head of the Working Committee Operations and Services, a working group belonging to UFI (Union des Foires Internationales). As Chief of Information Technology on Messe Frankfurt’s Extended Board of Management, he is stepping up efforts to digitise business processes, services and products at Messe Frankfurt. In creating this position, the company is underlining the strategic relevance of digitisation.
Dr. Winckler: “Our core business consists of enabling business encounters and creating the best conditions for this. Digitisation offers us a wealth of new possibilities to make such encounters even more effective and valuable for our customers and to further develop our products, services and processes. We do this at both national and international level.”
Wolfgang Marzin, President and Chief Executive Officer of Messe Frankfurt GmbH, was elected to the UFI’s Board of Directors again. Here, together with other CEOs from German trade fair companies, he represents Germany as a strong trade fair centre. As Wolfgang Marzin explains: “Digitisation is changing markets and is also impacting trade fair companies. In view of this, I delighted to be involved – together with my colleagues and UFI – in further evolving and refining an area that is of such importance for our sector.”
As the world’s leading trade fair company with its own exhibition grounds, Messe Frankfurt is traditionally represented on UFI’s Board of Directors and is active in its working groups.
UFI is the global association of the trade fair sector and represents trade fair organisers, exhibition grounds operators and selected sector service providers. The association represents over 50,000 trade fair experts directly. Its 750-plus member companies currently come from 86 different countries. Its members also include 55 national and regional trade fair associations.
