Very soon, Messe Frankfurt will be launching a digital pilot project that ties in neatly with the overall theme of “Smart solutions for mobility and logistics”. When Hypermotion – an event mix consisting of exhibition, conferences, pitches and hackathon – is held in Hall 5.1 and the adjoining Congress Center from 20 to 22 November 2017, it will also be featuring a cloud-based voice assistant. For the very first time, exhibitors and visitors will not only have hostesses and hosts to help them but can also direct their questions to “Alexa”. Alexa is the cloud-based voice assistant developed by market leader Amazon and, according to a recent study by PWC, is the most widely used software of its kind in Germany with an awareness level of 78 percent.
Before Hypermotion opens its doors, the system will be fed with all relevant information and geared specifically to the content of the event in question. During the event, these “skills” will be given further updates by the organisers if required. The voice assistant not only answers general questions about the exhibition grounds but also responds to inquiries about specific exhibitors and services – for instance: “Alexa, ask Hypermotion how I can register for additional conference modules”.

This topic fits perfectly with our new event Hypermotion, which focuses solely on digital solutions and products.” The voice assistant will be positioned at several locations in Hall 5.1 and at the entrances.
Messe Frankfurt is constantly expanding its digital offerings relating to its events, services and processes. This already covers a wide range of digital services, from exhibitor and product searches on event websites to navigator apps, digital hall plans, personal checklists and business matching.
