Responsibility and commitment

E-mobility on the exhibition grounds

Our Frankfurt exhibition grounds are really a ‘city within a city’. With an area the size of 90 football pitches containing eleven exhibition halls, more than 90 congress and conference rooms and 26 restaurants, large numbers of deliveries are needed – and not just when international flagship fairs are taking place.

We rely on electromobility

We have been promoting electromobility on the exhibition grounds for a number of years now. Messe Frankfurt deployed its first electric car, a Mercedes Benz A-Class, back in 2011, and the company has expanded its fleet to include additional electric vehicles, as well as a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, in the years since.

Thanks to the acquisition of three ‘StreetScooter’ electric transport vehicles, some of the deliveries on our exhibition grounds have also been ‘all-electric’ since the beginning of the year, without any vehicle emissions whatsoever. Messe Frankfurt’s charging infrastructure boasts thirteen charging stations on the exhibition grounds, and it makes this available to exhibitors and visitors at its trade fairs as well.

‘Now, carpeting, signage and even break-time snacks can be moved around the exhibition grounds in a climate-neutral manner by Messe Frankfurt’s service partners. With the deployment of StreetScooters, the company has made an investment in the improvement of its ecological footprint.’
