Building Technologies

Digitalisation, networking and security are the driving issues of our time. 24 Messe Frankfurt events in Europe, Asia and South America pick up on these topics and provide some crucial solutions and approaches. They offer innovative platforms for the efficient management of building services, ‘smart’ networking, security, in terms of both provision and design, as well as for the sustainable use of the two scarce resources: energy and water. This is, in particular, what the two leading international trade fairs ISH and Light + Building are all about. Together, they make the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre the world’s undisputed number 1 venue for intelligent building services technology. This position is significantly enhanced through the addition of the new ‘Elevator + Escalator’ segment. Lift technology, transportation and storage technology is a growth sector in the field of technical building services equipment.

Safety, Security & Fire

The market for civil security for domestic and commercial premises is a major growth area. In particular, the demand for electronic security technology continues to grow steadily. This is partly the result of the strong economic climate in the building market, but also of the increased awareness of security and the willingness to invest in security systems. Messe Frankfurt is a leading organiser worldwide of trade fairs and congresses for the security sector. They currently organise a total of eleven events under the Intersec and Secutech brands across the globe. They are held in Europe, the Near and Middle East, in Asia, South America and Africa. The product groups represented at the individual trade fairs include, for example, commercial security, fire protection and rescue, internal security and policing equipment, health and safety in the workplace, perimeter protection and access control.

Environmental Technologies

The provision of water and energy for an increasing world population together with the processing and disposal of waste are the major challenges of the future. In their three environmental trade fairs and two congresses with accompanying exhibitions, Messe Frankfurt offers the industry worldwide platforms on which to present their innovations, meet business partners and discuss current trends. The Eco Expo Asia in Hong Kong, the Waste & Recycling Expo Canada and the Municipal Equipment Expo Canada are high-calibre trade fairs, at which the industry presents the latest environmental and ecological technologies. The Wastetech, Cleantech and Watertech India conferences in New Delhi, together with the Wastecare Forum Russia in Moscow, provide an invitation to in-depth discussion of the technical issues.

Food Technologies

Key issues for the sector are sustainability in our dealings with food in the light of an increasing demographic, efficient use of energy and of natural resources, hygiene and the safety of products, as well as process optimisation and flexibility. Messe Frankfurt currently organises four trade fairs for the food industry. One such is IFFA, the leading international trade fair for the meat industry. At this show the focus is on innovative and creative solutions for the safe, efficient and economically viable production of meat and meat products. Two additional fairs in this segment are the Tecnofidta powered by IFFA in Argentina and the Meat Expo China in Changsha. Moreover, Messe Frankfurt also organises Modern Bakery Moscow, Russia’s leading trade fair for the complete spectrum of the bakery and confectionery sector.

Textile Care

Modern textile care is characterised by high levels of automation and the intelligent networking of machinery, textiles and data. Further implementation of Industry 4.0 remains the dominant topic in the sector and is set to continue into the future. At the same time, issues such as sustainability, hygiene and optimisation of washing agents also have a key role to play. Texcare International in Frankfurt, Texcare Asia in Shanghai and the Texcare Forum Russia in Moscow all ensure that Messe Frankfurt has a presence in markets that are of strategic importance for the textile-care industries.

Electronics & Automation Technologies

The increasing degree of automation and digitalisation of production and processing in business and industry represent the major challenges faced by exhibitors and visitors to trade fairs in the field of Electronics & Automation Technologies: Mesago Messe Frankfurt offers its customers eleven trade fairs in the growth regions of the world. The SPS IPC Drives in Nuremberg is Europe’s leading trade fair for electric automation. A further four events are held in Italy, India and China. PCIM Europe and PCIM Asia are the leading international trade fairs for power electronics, intelligent drive technology, renewable energy and energy management. Other internationally renowned trade-fair and conference platforms located in Germany are SMT Hybrid Packaging (systems integration in microelectronics), EMV (international trade fair and congress for electromagnetic compatibility), EDPC (conference and exhibition for electric drives and generators production) and SSI (smart systems integration).

Manufacturing Technologies & Components

Intelligent optimisation of processes and procedures and the increasing demands of efficiency, complexity and flexibility are major themes for the capital goods industry. Messe Frankfurt offers eight specialised trade fairs for a variety of industrial and commercial areas in all the growth regions of the world. Formnext powered by tct is the leading trade fair for additive manufacturing and is all about the next generation of intelligent industrial manufacturing processes. Its counterpart in Asia is  Asiamold in China. Messe Frankfurt also organises international trade fairs for tools, ironmongery and other tradesmen’s requisites in Argentina (Expoferretera) and in the United Arab Emirates (Hardware+Tools Middle East). Wire & Cable in Guangzhou is the second largest trade fair for the wire and cable industry in China. Thermotec (trade fair for industrial ovens, thermic processes and metallurgy) presents the sector’s innovations in Japan.  Decision-makers in the wood-pulp, paper and supplying industries meet every year for their trade fair and congress at the Zellcheming-Expo.
Hygiene and clean-room technologies are becoming increasingly important in more and more production and application scenarios. And Cleanzone provides a highly specialised international platform to meet this need.
