At Messe Frankfurt, sustainability has always been a top priority. Therefore, corporate social responsibility (CSR) is an integral part of our corporate concept and is reflected in the activities of all our subsidiaries and branch offices worldwide. Today, our CSR involvement comprises a wide range of topics as well as strong stakeholder involvement, both of which we continuously develop.
For us, CSR means responsible business practices, something that encompasses economic, ecological and social aspects. Our individual CSR activities are divided into four categories: Environment / Sustainability, Social Responsibility, Education / Science and Cultural involvement. In addition, many of our in-house and guest events are showcases for sustainability all around the world.
The Global Compact of the United Nations is a voluntary international initiative for organisations from the fields of business, government and civil society. Participants commit to applying and actively promoting socially, environmentally and economically sustainable business practices.
We have been publicly demonstrating our commitment to CSR since 2010, when we became the first German trade fair company to participate in the UN Global Compact. Together with more than 10,000 other participants, we have committed to comply with the 10 principles on human rights, labour standards, environmental protection and anti-corruption.
