With the “Kap Europa”, we are following up on our highly successful Congress Center by expanding our range of facilities for congresses, conferences, meetings, incentives and special events. This allows us to tap into additional customer segments in the growing field of congresses and conferences. The name “Kap Europa” makes reference to the Europaviertel district, where the new congress centre is located, but also to the striking design of the building. The central city location and immediate proximity to the new Skyline Plaza shopping centre make the new facility extremely attractive to organisers and participants alike. The Kap Europa is the only Messe Frankfurt building to be located outside its exhibition grounds. The Kap Europa will be completed by early 2014 together with the Skyline Plaza shopping centre and is scheduled to open for business in summer 2014.
On a total of four levels, the Kap Europa will have a hall for 1,000 people, a divisible hall for 600 people and 12 further conference rooms. The concept was developed by Messe Frankfurt together with joint venture partners ECE Projektmanagement GmbH & Co. KG and CA Immo Deutschland GmbH and was implemented by architects at ECE. While the Congress Center on the exhibition grounds is ideal for large-scale events requiring additional space, the Kap Europa serves the need for smaller rooms.
Complying with the highest sustainability standards, the building will meet the requirements necessary for certification in accordance with German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) norms. It is the first congress facility worldwide that is aiming for the officially recognised DGNB standard.
