Nearly 130 upstream yarns and fibre supplies from ten countries and regions including China, Hong Kong China, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Singapore, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam will take part in Yarn Expo China from 29 – 31 March 2012 at the China World Trade Centre. A highlight this year is the India pavilion organised by Texprocil which will group 18 suppliers showcasing cotton yarn, blended yarns, mélange yarns, cotton fibre and value added knitted fabrics.
“China has always been and still is one of the important trading partners in India’s textile sector,” commented Mr Ravi Narayanaswamy from Texprocil, The Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council which is a non-profit international marketing organisation for manufacturers of cotton yarns, fabrics and garments from India. “Even though we have not participated in any trade fairs in the last five years, we are taking a different approach with the China market and taking part in the best fairs in the region in order to maintain a presence of Indian companies in China,” he added.
Mr Narayanaswamy also spoke of bridging the gap in demand of supplies within the two countries textile industry sectors. “India has a surplus production of cotton and cotton yarns, whereas, in China there is a net shortage of cotton and cotton yarn as required by their spinning and weaving sectors, and we are trying to help connect both countries in order to complement each others strength,” he said.
Besides the India pavilion is the Pakistan Zone which will also feature cotton yarns at competitive price points. Meanwhile domestic exhibitors will group according to products including:
Altogether, this year’s participants occupy 5,500 sqm of trade space and feature a comprehensive range of natural fibres and yarns including cotton, wool, flax/ramie specialty products; elastic, fancy and blended yarns as well as regenerated and synthetic man-made fibres.
