Greenshowroom and the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin:
178 international labels present themselves on expanded area
Programme: shows in imposing location, blogger event, photo competition and numerous opportunities for information gathering
Onwards and upwards: the development trajectory of the green trade fair duo Greenshowroom and the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin is still heading in one direction only. Visitors to the Postbahnhof can look forward to an expanded product offer once again. From 17-19 January 2017, the international top players in eco fashion will present their new collections for A/W 2017/18. A total of 178 labels ensure a new exhibitor record and a fully booked trade fair duo. 'All the options that the Postbahnhof offers have been exhausted. We look forward to another positive reception from the exhibiting labels and a fantastic range', says Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles & Textile Technologies at Messe Frankfurt.

Greenshowroom will have a 20 per cent greater surface area and 15 per cent more labels than before. 40 international pioneers in the eco-contemporary segment will provide a host of high-quality looks on the upper floor of the Postbahnhof. The Ethical Fashion Show Berlin with 138 represented labels will also expand its presentation surface area: selected collections will be showcased on the upper and lower floors and also in the Club of the Postbahnhof for the first time. A "Patch-Work Customising Station" will also be set up in the Club in collaboration with Sportswear International and the denim artists at Balagans. Visitors are invited to bring their jeans and have them transformed into a new design.
Edelziege will be presenting the finest cashmere from Mongolia at Greenshowroom.
Show programme at the Energieforum for the first time
The expanded offer at the Club has been made possible by moving the fashion show programme to the neighbouring Energieforum. The new and imposing location for the two shows "Salonshow" and "Ethical Fashion on Stage" can be reached in just three minutes on foot from the Postbahnhof. The site by the River Spree offers a first-rate and highly effective backdrop for showcasing the new collections from Greenshowroom and the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin. At the "Salonshow" on Wednesday 18 January at 5.30 p.m., highlights from the following labels can be seen: Austriandesign.at, Biaggi, Blue Valley, Inti Ferreira, Johanna Riplinger, Lanius, LaniusXKunert, Royal Blush, Somyso, Studio Elsien Gringhuis, Studio Jux and Xess+Baba. Then at 7.30 p.m., the catwalk show "Ethical Fashion on Stage" will present selected looks by B Frog, C. Pauli, Chapati, Colombo3, Elementum, Greenbomb, Jaspe, Komodo, Naturaline, Organication, Shirts for Life, Tranquillo and Ukua Lov Baby. To finish the show, lavera Naturkosmetik will present the winner of the lavera Green Fashion Award from January 2016: Paul Iby with Johanna Winklhofer.
"PrePeek": a direct line to the customer via influencers
With PrePeek, the event organisers of the trade fair duo have established a campaign whereby the exhibitor will gain a direct channel of communication to the end consumer. Bloggers and influencers will select collection pieces from participating labels, showcase them in photo shoots and write reports about them. The collaborating partner in this promotion is Kleiderei from Hamburg with support from Weleda.
Who can take the best trade fair photo?
Professional and amateur photographers, journalists and bloggers are being called to take part in a photo competition during the three days of the trade fair. Whether of people, the hustle and bustle of the trade fair or the fashion shows, photos can be posted on the Facebook pages of the two trade fairs tagged with #myfairpic, #greenshowroom and #EFSB. An expert jury will choose their favourite photo from all the posted photos. There is also a prize for the photo that attracts the most likes on the Internet. The two winners will each receive an edition of the book "Fashion Made Fair" and a voucher from Kleiderei.
Key topic "ActiveSlow"
Progressive design and performance in combination with
resource efficiency and recyclability are the key themes
for the winter season. In a showcase entitled "Active Wear +", Manufactum and ESMOD Berlin International University of Art for Fashion will present prototypical functional clothing. Selected exhibitors at both trade fairs will also present design
innovations that are characterised especially by resource efficiency, slowness and recyclability. More in-depth information will be provided at the panel discussion entitled: "Save the sea: the issue of textile shedding into water bodies". The three-day programme of talks will also offer visitors the opportunity to inform themselves about current market developments and enter into discussions with fashion and sustainability experts.
