First-class speakers on topical subjects relating to international textile care
New – special themed days at Texcare Forum
The textile-care sector is facing a number of big challenges. High energy prices demand and promote energy efficiency and intelligent technologies. Moreover, against the background of climbing raw-material prices, customers are calling for extremely gentle processes to increase the service life of their textiles. Correct dry cleaning is essential for many of the new fibres and materials that promise superior qualities for workwear, e.g., flame protection. The international Texcare Forum will give the sector an opportunity to find out about the latest developments in the fields of science and research, as well as to exchange ideas and opinions with colleagues from home and abroad, during Texcare International, the world’s leading trade fair for modern textile care in Frankfurt am Main from 5 to 9 May 2012. Texcare Forum is the venue for international knowledge transfer in the textile-care sector.
Texcare Forum is aimed at Texcare International visitors and exhibitors and participation is free of charge. It will be held in Room ‘Symmetrie’ of Hall 8.1 between 14.00 and 16.00 hrs from 5 to 8 May. The programme has been prepared by the Association of the Textile Service Industry (Industrieverband Textil Service – intex) and the German Dry Cleaning Association (Deutscher Textilreinigungsverband – DTV) in cooperation with Messe Frankfurt.
On 5 and 6 May, the conference will be of particular interest to dry cleaners and laundries and, on 7 and 8 May, to textile service companies and laundries.
For the first time, the individual days are individual themes. The motto on Saturday, 5 May, is ‘Future Day’ and the programme will be chaired by Peter Wennekes of the International Committee of Textile Care (CINET) who will also give a lecture on ‘Professional textile care in 2012 – an innovative and sustainable business concept’. Additionally, Hartmut Paul Kokerbeck of the German Dry Cleaning Association will participate with a paper on ‘E-DryClean – online instruction for dry cleaners – processes, technology and environmental protection’. He will be followed by Jasmin Quaud of the European Innovative Textile Care Research Association who will lecture on ‘Fashion care means getting hygiene, quality and costs under control in the future´.
The Sunday (Innovation Day) will be devoted to technological innovations. With Elgar Straub, Director of VDMA Garment and Leather Technology, in the chair, Dr. Jürgen Bohnen of wfk – Cleaning Technology Institute will appeal for a closer working relationship between scientists and users in his lecture on ‘Research & practice – an unbeatable team! He will be followed by Hendrik Beier of the Saxon Textile Research Institute who will analyse the ‘Recycling of personal protective equipment from the standards and certification perspective’. A holistic view of sustainability will be offered by Martin Swierzy of Alsco. Ralf Hellmann of Dibella will look at the ‘ISO 26000 standard – FAIRE, environmentally friendly textiles suitable for washing in laundries’. Rounding off the day’s programme will be a lecture by Joachim Krause of DTV on ‘Energy efficiency – Pan-resource measures for saving energy’.
