The business world is facing a massive process of change. Everyone is talking about ‘mobility’, a trend that has hit all parts of society. For the first time, Messe Frankfurt is holding a specialist conference on ‘mobile working’ during the ‘M-Days – The Home of Mobile’ congress and trade fair. Greater mobility is an innovative opportunity to increase productivity for companies of all different sectors. Moreover, mobile working promotes agility, which strengthens key factors for success, such as customer service, talent recruitment and relative cost advantages, and therefore makes companies more competitive. However, it is not only the technology that needs to be mastered: mobile working also calls for good time and knowledge management to maintain channels of communication when away from the office and to resolve the
tensions generated by the combination of work and leisure. Effective planning and organisation are essential to ensure that the social side is not dominated by the virtual working world because mobile working offers not only resources but also physical and psychic burdens that can lead to stress and the danger of burnout.
The willingness to be mobile has become a general requirement of the modern employment market and is changing the business world permanently. To date, there has only been a limited discussion about the development and, in particular, the specific design of mobile workplaces. “For companies, the challenge is to resolve the divergences between increased efficiency and adherence to the provisions of employment legislation”, says Klaus Reinke, Senior Vice President of Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH. Leading experts will look at the technical, organisational-psychological and cultural changes facing companies during the ‘Mobile Working’ conference. From mobile strategies, via security solutions, to corporate culture, m-learning and e-leadership, they
will discuss the challenges involved in making virtual working worlds effective with the aim of remaining an attractive employer in the long term.
Around 120 exhibitors and over 200 speakers, who will inform trade visitors about the latest developments in the mobile sector and reveal the latest trends and perspectives for the future of the mobile communication, are expected to take part in the M-Days in Frankfurt am Main. The large number of exhibitors demonstrates clearly that the M-Days have gained greatly in importance.
