13.06.2012 Musikmesse launches the exhibitor campaign for 2013

Musikmesse launches the exhibitor campaign for 2013

Early-booking conditions for registrations until 15 September

Hall layout changes for ‘wind’, ‘bow’, ‘tab’ and ‘pickup’ product groups in Halls 3 and 4

Messe Frankfurt has launched its information and registration campaign for new and existing exhibitors at next year’s Musikmesse (10 to 13 April 2013). Before sending out the registration forms, the Musikmesse team is contacting exhibitors about the plans for a new structure in 2013, which calls for changes in the ‘wind’ (woodwind and brass instruments), ‘bow’ (string instruments), ‘tab’ (harmonicas and accordions) und ‘pickup’ (electric guitars, electric basses, amplifiers and accessories) sectors.

Central new hall structure with shorter walking distances

To make orientation easier for visitors and exhibitors, the Musikmesse team plans to centralize the fair in the exhibition halls around the Agora outdoor area and its pulsating event atmosphere. To this end, woodwind and brass instruments and harmonicas and accordions will be located in Hall 4.1, which has a direct link to the Via Mobile and is close to the architecturally and acoustically high-grade environment of Hall 3.1 where, beginning in 2013, string instruments will be located in the immediate vicinity of music publishers and acoustic guitars.

Linked to the Agora, the popular ground floors of both halls will provide the new setting for electric guitars, electric basses and accessories, which will move from Halls 4.0/4.1, whereby Hall 4.0 will focus exclusively on brands from this product segment. Other exhibitors from this segment will be located in Hall 3.0 together with top full-range companies and brands from the percussion field.

“The great atmosphere at Musikmesse 2012 and the optimism prevailing in the sector cannot disguise the fact that certain segments of the market are under considerable economic pressure. Changes in the exhibitor structure cannot be compensated for solely by new exhibitors and bigger exhibition stands. We are reacting to these developments at an early stage and concentrating the entire Musikmesse around the Agora. This is an important step to consolidate the position of the fair as the world’s biggest international business platform”, says Cordelia von Gymnich, Vice President Messe Frankfurt, explaining the restructuring.

Wolfgang Lücke, Director Musikmesse, is well aware of the impact the changes will have on exhibitors and visitors: “For some exhibitors, adjustments and changes will certainly be unavoidable and we would like to thank all concerned for their understanding and cooperation. We will keep any inconveniences to an absolute minimum and at the same time take into account all requests and wishes. Therefore, we are informing our customers at the earliest possible time and inviting them to exchange ideas with us for the planning.”

Early-booking conditions for registrations until 15 September

The Musikmesse registration process for exhibitors around the world will begin in the second half on June when the registration forms are dispatched. Exhibitors can benefit from an early-booking discount of more than ten percent by registering by 15 September 2012. The registration forms and further details can be found on the Musikmesse website starting 18 June 2012: http://musik.messefrankfurt.com/frankfurt/de/aussteller/ messeplanung/anmeldung_preise.html

Musikmesse is the biggest and most important international trade fair for musical instruments, sheet music, music production and marketing. With around 70,000 visitors and 1,500 exhibitors at the last event earlier this year, Musikmesse underscored its significance as the leading international trade fair for the musical-instrument sector. For four days, all important manufacturers made presentations at the fair in Frankfurt am Main and exchanged information and ideas with distributors, retailers, sales and marketing managers from the worldwide musical-instrument business.

 Note for journalists:

The claim of the new key visual for Musikmesse – ‘Spirit of Music’ –captures the essence of this lively and creative business.
