03.11.2011 Mesago to bring ID WORLD to Frankfurt

Mesago Messe Frankfurt is to take over the event format of ID WORLD from the previous organiser Wise Media. The ID WORLD Events represent the leading technology and sector spanning conferences with associated trade fairs for the growing automatic identification market. The events’ key themes are RFID, biometrics, smart cards and data collection.

Milan, Abu Dhabi and Rio de Janeiro have hosted the events to date. The acquisition of ID WORLD Events, will lead to the relocation of the flagship event, ID WORLD International Congress, in 2012 from Milan to Frankfurt. “The Messe Frankfurt Congress Center will provide the ideal environment for this prime event attended by top decision-makers within manufacturing, purchasing and policy making from across the world,” explained Johann Thoma, President of Mesago Messe Frankfurt.

Through the acquisition of ID WORLD Mesago Messe Frankfurt has enhanced its event portfolio. “ID WORLD fits well into our portfolio of events on technological, special-interest topics. With more than 20 years’ international experience in this sector we will be able to strengthen and develop the leading position of ID WORLD“, explained Johann Thoma. Sophie de la Griroday, MD of Wise Media, added, “We have known for a long time that for ID WORLD to reach its full potential we would have to increase the organisational capacity in line with its growth. Mesago Messe Frankfurt is the ideal partner to undertake this task.”

Sophie de la Giroday will continue to be involved in developing the concept. “Sophie de la Giroday has achieved something quite phenomenal over the last ten years with the ID WORLD events. She is extremely well connected, recognises early on the trends in the market and has considerable expertise in the sector,” commented Johann Thoma.

About ID WORLD
ID WORLD’s comprehensive approach to the evolving world of RFID, biometrics, smart cards, data collection, identity management technologies and their applications, makes it the only international initiative that looks at the world of automatic identification as a whole, rather than focusing on a specific technology or vertical market. Over the last decade, ID WORLD Events have grown in impact and reach, engaging the most important players of the ID community at industry, end-user and government levels worldwide.
In 2012, the ID WORLD calendar of events will include ID WORLD Abu Dhabi, the fifth EMEA Summit in the UAE in March, ID WORLD Rio de Janeiro, the second Americas Summit, Brazil in June, and the 11th ID WORLD International Congress in Frankfurt, Germany on October 16 to 18, 2012.
