At the request of the Tendence Exhibitor Advisory Council, Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH will review the timing of the Tendence Autumn Fair. In this connection, the company has announced a comprehensive poll of international visitors and exhibitors.
Discussions with customers and initial surveys during Tendence, International Autumn Fair, which was held two weeks ago, revealed that the new timing of the fair, which was introduced at the request of market participants in 2007, has not been fully accepted. There are opponents and proponents of the new dates before the summer break on both the exhibitor and visitor sides. However, it is not possible to say on the basis of the information currently available whether or not this is due to the changed economic situation in the wake of last year’s financial crisis.
“Given the present situation, it is especially important that we examine our fairs more frequently and intensively than ever before in terms of their conceptual details and, of course, make any revisions necessary. Therefore, all decisions must be reviewed at regular intervals and adjusted or corrected to take account of new information”, explains Dr. Michael Peters, Member of the Board of Management of Messe Frankfurt.
The international poll will enable Messe Frankfurt to better evaluate the opinions of national and international exhibitors and visitors about the best time for Tendence to be held. At the same time, Messe Frankfurt aims to include all participants in the decision-making process.
Tendence moved from its regular time at the end of August to the beginning of July in 2007 on the basis of the results of a market survey conducted by Messe Frankfurt. The reason for the bringing forward Tendence was the great change taking place in the order patterns of the trade and the associated shift in the ordering procedure from the end of August until June / July.
