11.05.2012 Statements by exhibitors at Hair and Beauty 2012

How would you gauge the atmosphere in the sector? Where do you see potential? What expectations do you have of Hair and Beauty? Some exhibitors gave their answers to these questions.

Pascal Frantz, Managing Director of L’Oréal Professional Products Germany: "Demographic change is already clearly evident: more and more places for apprentices and more and more unfilled jobs. As the market leader, L’Oréal Professional Products Germany feels itself called upon to take initiatives for making the hairdressing trade more attractive to trainees and for developing the sector further in its entirety. With this in mind L’Oréal Professional Products Germany, working with the Central Association of the German Hairdressing Trade (Zentralverband des Deutschen Friseurhandwerks), has launched a series of measures to attract qualified new entrants to the hairdressing profession. The aim is to provide school leavers with a many-faceted presentation of the profession and to show them all its opportunities and possibilities, thus making the sector increasingly attractive. We shall be presenting this comprehensive programme for the first time to the sector, and thus to the specialist public, at Hair and Beauty."

Stephan Conzen, Managing Director of Hans Conzen Kosmetik GmbH:
"We are very glad as an exhibitor to be presenting our GLYNT brand at Hair and Beauty. The May date is very good; we can count on a large visitor response from the whole of Germany and neighbouring countries. The concept of the fair is coherent and modern, and we expect to see many decision makers. In short: the perfect environment in which to present GLYNT innovations!"

Noah Wild, Managing Director of Wild Beauty AG:
"We are living in an age of unlimited possibilities – true temples of beauty, featuring wellbeing for the whole body, are increasingly setting the tone and the trends. If you are receptive to what is new, today is exactly the time to achieve what previously you couldn't even imagine, and we are both proud and thankful to aid and support our salon partners on this road. After a great start to the year, with the motto 'Now for the man', featuring our new, exclusive man's line Mitch – we have already interested more than 1,000 salons enthusiastically in this line – now we are bringing lifestyle from New York in the shape of our new make-up line Stagecolor at exclusively selected hairdressers.

We are looking forward to seeing the sector's doers and decision makers in Frankfurt again, to having inspiring meetings, beautiful hair and a fantastic atmosphere on our stand. During the whole time of the fair we shall be providing shows and workshops on our stand, and we can hardly wait to enthuse our visitors with them. High-quality products and a passionate, highly motivated team will make for success at Wild Beauty AG. PAUL MITCHELL®  ̶ that is more than just hairstyle. On our stand visitors will be able to meet the persons 'behind the bottles' and see at first hand what makes PAUL MITCHELL® life-style so extraordinary."

Ralf Billharz, Managing Director of Wella:
"Our latest GfK study in March has shown that the market is growing slightly. Visitor numbers and annual expenditure by women consumers at the hairdresser has risen on last year. Two major topics continue to occupy the sector's attention. Firstly, the search for new, qualified entrants to the profession, and in this context the question of training and further training. Secondly, the positioning of the salons, i.e. all questions involving management and marketing.

We are very satisfied with the first quarter and have received a good response to our initiatives and market presence. We were also very pleased to see 500 school students and parents taking part on our 'You make the Style' Trainees' Days at our training studios in Darmstadt and Düsseldorf, where we publicised the hairdressing profession and set up a job exchange.

We are looking forward to plenty of in-depth contacts at Hair and Beauty, both with our customers and with people who are looking to the market leader to provide successful concepts for their salons."
