The Central Association of the German Hairdressing Trade tasks Messe Frankfurt with organising the most important event of the international hairdressing industry
The Central Association of the German Hairdressing Trade (ZdF) has commissioned Messe Frankfurt with the task of organising and running the 2014 Hairworld hairdressing world championship. The related international trade exhibition will also be organised by Germany's leading trade fair company, which already has extensive experience in the hairdressing and cosmetics sector through its annual Hair & Beauty fair. Hairworld 2014 will be taking place as part of a cooperation between the global hairdressing association OMC (Organisation Mondiale Coiffure), the ZdF and Messe Frankfurt.
"We were looking for a trustworthy partner and a state-of-the-art venue at the heart of Germany for Hairworld 2014. The positive experiences gained over the many years we have been collaborating with Messe Frankfurt on Hair and Beauty were every bit as persuasive as the advantages the city of Frankfurt has to offer," says Andreas Popp, President of the Central Association of the German Hairdressing Trade.
"We are absolutely delighted about the association's decision and their confidence in our expertise to follow the likes of Moscow, Paris and Milan in organising this international event," says Detlef Braun, Member of the Messe Frankfurt Executive Board. "Frankfurt has been world championship-tested and will be just as inspiring a host for the world's greatest hair stylists," continues Braun.
Salvatore Fodera, President of Organisation Mondiale Coiffure (OMC) is also pleased about the decision: "Frankfurt is a place like no other – cosmopolitan, creative and also a perfect business centre for the hairdressing industry and hence also for Hairworld 2014."
Messe Frankfurt has extensive international experience in organising trade fairs for the cosmetics and hairdressing industry; the international Beautyworld brand in Japan and Dubai and Hair and Beauty in Frankfurt are just two examples.
Every two years, the hairdressing industry sets out to find the world's best hair stylists. The contest was last held in Paris in 2010, with some 800 hair stylists from 60 countries competing. Last year, Organisation Mondiale Coiffure (OMC) selected Germany as the host for Hairworld 2014. The hairdressing world championship is slated to take place in May.
Hairworld will be held together with Hair and Beauty in the ‘Festhalle’, Hall 3 and the ‘Forum’ from 3 to 5 May 2014.
