08.10.2012 Certified sustainability: Kap Europa receives DGNB Pre-Certificate in Gold as first congress center

The Messe Frankfurt’s congress center Kap Europa, which is currently under construction, has been awarded with a Pre-Certificate in Gold by the German Sustainable Building Council for its high ecological standards. Today at the real estate fair Expo Real in Munich the certificate has been handed over by the DGNB Vice President Hermann Horster to the joint project partners Uwe Behm, CEO Messe Frankfurt GmbH, Bernhard Hansen, Board member CA Immo, and Alexander Otto, CEO ECE. Kap Europa is being developed by ECE and CA Immo as part of the Skyline Plaza large-scale project in Frankfurt’s Europaviertel district. Important criterions for the assessment of the congress center were, among others, the primary energy demand of less than 26 % compared with the EnEV (Energy Saving Ordinance) 2009 as well as the building’s high-quality roof design. Kap Europa is the first congress center ever that has been awarded with a DGNB Pre-Certificate in Gold.
