Less than a year after the successful launch of the photovoltaic system on top of Hall 10 and its subsequent expansion, Messe Frankfurt will be creating a new location for an employee and citizen-owned solar power station this summer.
The company is once again working with the Sonneninitiative e. V. association and Mainova AG to install a new photovoltaic system on the roof of the Rebstock multi-storey car park. The entire system will offer approx. 8,700 square metres of net module area, ensuring an annual energy harvest of some 750,000 kilowatt hours. Its kilowatt peak will be about 860 kilowatts, and it will generate enough climate-friendly energy for approx. 250 private households.
“With these large photovoltaic systems, Messe Frankfurt is clearly demonstrating its commitment to the use of innovative and environmentally friendly technologies, allowing it to make a sustainable contribution to generating power from renewable energies. This new facility will also avoid the emission of some 560 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year that would otherwise be released by using fossil fuels,” explains Uwe Behm, Member of the Board of Management of Messe Frankfurt.
