17.11.2016 Messe Frankfurt digitises traffic management

New Central Traffic Management system facilitates faster set-up and dismantling

Digitisation of intelligent transport systems also to be focus of new Frankfurt event in November 2017

Digitisation is forging ahead – not least at Messe Frankfurt, whose new Central Traffic Management (CeTraM) system is now one of the most advanced traffic management systems in the German trade fair sector. The main advantage offered by the system is that it speeds up set-up and dismantling at events. This is made possible by permanently monitoring spaces and vehicles on the exhibition grounds and Rebstock car park, where Messe Frankfurt has set up a new check-in for up to 500 vehicles. Here, all incoming trucks must register beforehand instead of driving onto the exhibition grounds directly as before. The truck drivers are required to wait there until they receive authorisation to proceed – at peak set-up and dismantling times, this is sent by text message to their mobile phones.
