For visitors: FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bring a camera or video camera to the events?
Basically it is allowed to take photos with a small camera in the Festhalle. However, some artists feel the flashlight thunderstorm as annoying and forbid, hence, taking photos. In this case your camera will be taken to a deposit by the security at the entrance of the Festhalle  until the end of the concert.

Can I take my own food and drinks into the halls?
You are generally allowed to take food and drinks into the hall. However, drinks must be in Tetrapacks no larger than 0.5 litres or Capri Sun packs (or similar soft-walled packagings). Glass bottles are not permitted, and security personnel will remove the caps from PET bottles.

Can I smoke in the Festhalle?
No, smoking is not allowed.

Where can I park?
The "Messeturm", "Marriott Hotel" and "Maritim Hotel" public multi-storey carparks are located in the immediate vicinity of the Festhalle. We advise you, however, to travel to the location by public transport.

What time are visitors allowed in?
Admission is generally 1 1/2 hours before the start of the event. In the case of concerts, which normally begin at 8 p.m., admission is from 6:30 p.m.

Is there always a support act at concerts?
There is generally a support act before the main performance at concerts. There are two main reasons for a support act: firstly, it is designed to provide up-and-coming musicians with an opportunity to play in a big venue; and the support act helps to get the crowd in the mood for the main act. It is not always possible to say in advance whether there will be a support act or who it will be. We advise you to look at our event calendar shortly before the event is scheduled to take place. You may possibly find more information under Events/Details.
