Messe Frankfurt's new Cargo Center started operation in September 2007. This 6,000 m hall located to the west of the Emser Brücke bridge serves as the logistics hub for the entire exhibition grounds. An office building with 700 square metres of space is integrated on the east side. There are as many as 200 employees dealing with cargo and freight during trade fairs.
The addition of the Cargo Center represents another expansion in the range of services offered by Messe Frankfurt for its customers. Not only is this reducing the volume of traffic on and around the exhibition grounds, but it also allows the better coordination and grouping of deliveries made by forwarding agents.
Messe Frankfurt has invested some eight million euros in this project. The new building is part of the renewal of the West section and is a component of the master plan for the modernisation of the exhibition grounds over the next decade.
