Forum: Key features of the architecture

All good things come in threes! With the new Forum, there is now a third congress and conference building on the Frankfurt Fairground site. Alongside the Festhalle and the Congress Center (CMF), the light-filled glass building thus completes the trio of events facilities available at Messe Frankfurt.

First use: August 2001 (Tendence)

Guests can meet and talk, exhibit and celebrate on two event levels in a gross exhibition space totalling 4,500 square metres. Two large halls afford sufficient space for large-scale gala events and balls. In addition, a variety of conference and interpreting rooms, offices and restaurants provide facilities for absolutely every type of event.

Architecture:

The Frankfurt architects' office "KSP Engel und Zimmermann" drew up the plans for the multi-functional, light-filled building.

Logistics and service:

The building can be serviced from ground level via the area of open space to the west of the Forum, i.e. the Agora. Heavy-duty cargo lifts with a load capacity of up to 15 tonnes make it possible for the upper areas to be equipped with ease. Eight escalators and two lifts are available for the transportation of persons. The Forum building is linked to the rest of the site and Messe Frankfurt's Congress Center (CMF) by the Via Mobile.

Cost:

The construction costs for the project amount to around DM 65 million.
